The Pecan Tree Kennel is proud of the fact that since 1962 people from all over the United States
and several foreign counties have selected our kennel as their number one bird dog training facility in America.
Our reputation has been earned by years of providing a most complete and professional bird dog training facility.

The Pecan Tree Kennel Training Grounds consist of 122 acres of superb, natural quail habitat. Our dogs are worked daily by our professional trainers. All of our dogs start their training work on flight conditioned liberated bob-white quail. Our five strategically-located quail release pens allow our trainers to release hundreds of flight-conditioned quail each day to assure that every dog will have the maximum opportunity to develop his hunting skills in a reasonable period of time.

Proven Results
Our finish work is done by actually hunting the dogs on wild birds on various ranches, primarily in Texas. Normally it will take from four to six months to train a good young dog. Specific problems can be corrected in a shorter period of time.

Conditioning Program!
The Pecan Tree Kennel offers a special conditioning program during the months of August, September, and October each year so that you may be assured that your dog(s) will be ready to meet the challenge of the bird hunting season which usually begins in November and ends in February. Your dog is very similar to an athlete, if you expect a top performance, conditioning is a MUST!

Our rates are very competitive. Our monthly training fee, as well as our monthly conditioning fee, is $950.00 per dog, per month, plus any medication or veterinary care. To insure the health of every dog in The Pecan Tree Kennel, on a monthly basis we administer to every dog in our kennel, Ivomec® for the prevention of heartworms and Panacur® or Strongid® for the control of hook, whip and round worms, the cost of which is included in the monthly training fee and the monthly boarding fee. Veterinary services and prescribed medication expense, when necessary, will be the dog owner’s responsibility.
